APARELHO DE VIAS AÉREAS ARTIFICIAIS. A invenção refere-se a um aparelho (19) para uso no estabelecimento de uma via aérea artificial em um paciente, o aparelho compreendendo um tubo (19a) para introdução na traquéia de um paciente para passagem de gases para e dos pulmões do paciente, uma vedação inflável (20) disposta sobre o tubo (19a) para fornecer, durante o enchimento, uma vedação entre o tubo e a traquéia do paciente, a vedação (20) definindo, assim, uma parte de lado de pulmão (19c) do aparelho e uma parte de lado de boca (19d) do aparelho, o aparelho compreendendo adicionalmente meios (19e) para facilitar a remoção do fluido de ou adjacente à dita parte de lado de boca (19d) do aparelho (19).
