COMPOSTOS BENZILIDENO-BETA-DICARBONILA COMO NOVOS FILTROS DE UV. A presente invenção refere-se ao uso de um composto de fórmula em que R^ 1^-R^ 3^ são, independentemente um do outro hidrogênio, C~ 1~-C~ 8~-alquila ou C~ 1~-C~ 8~-alcóxi, R^ 4^ é COR, CO~ 2~R, CONR~ 2~, onde R é C~ 1~-C~ 8~-alquiIa ou C~ 3~-C~ 8~- cicloalquila R^ 5^ é H ou C~ 1~-C~ 8~-alquila, R^ 6^ é arila, arila substituída por até três C~ 1~-C~ 8~-alquila- ou C~ 1~-C~ 8~-alcóxi, ou C~ 3~-C~ 8~-cicloalquila como filtros de UV em formulações cosméticas, em particular em combinação com filtros de UV do grupo que consiste em derivados de metoxicinamato e/ou derivados de dibenzoilmetano, com a condição de que R^ 5^ seja H se R^ 4^ for COR.
