MÉTODO PARA PREPARAR ESPUMA DE POLIURETANO E ESPUMA DE POLIURETANO Preparam-se espumas flexíveis de poliuretano reagindo um poliisocianato com um poliol de alto peso equivalente. Pelo menos uma porção do poliol de alto peso equivalente é um poliéster contendo grupos hidroximetila. O poliéster é preparado por um processo de etapas múltiplas a partir de gordura vegetal ou animal, recuperando os ácidos graxos constituintes, hidroformilando as ligações duplas carbono-carbono nos ácidos graxos e reduzindo para formar grupos hidroximetila, e depois formando um poliéster por reação com um composto iniciador.
