Abstract
"MÉTODOS PARA A PREVENÇÃO OU PARA REDUÇÃO DE PLACA OU DE ACÚMULO DE PLACA, E DE GENGIVITE EM UM INDIVÍDUO, COMPOSIÇÃO NÃO AQUOSA, E, PASTA DE DENTES". São fornecidos métodos e composições para a prevenção e/ou a redução de placa, acúmulo de placa e/ou gengivite. São fornecidas composições de vidro bioativo que previnem ou reduzem placa, acúmulo de placa e/ou gengivite através do uso de baixos níveis de pequenas partículas de vidro bioativo em quantidades de desde aproximadamente 0,25 até aproximadamente 10% em peso em formulações não aquosas. As composições não aquosas resultantes são eficazes em produtos dentifrícios e são estáveis e são aprovadas por padrões ISO (International Organization for Standartization). Além disso, estas composições aquosas que contêm vidro bioativo apresentam níveis inesperadamente altos de atividade antimicrobiana contra agentes patogênicos orais.
