A presente invenção refere-se a um material absorvente consistindo em uma rede molecular formada de moléculas de amido, moléculas de amido essas que possuem um teor de amilopectina de pelo menos 90 % (p/p). A rede molecular pode ser composta de amidos auto-entrelaçados ou amidos reticulados.
