Abstract
"MÉTODO E REATOR PARA PRODUÇÃO DE ALUMÍNIO POR REDUÇÃO CARBOTÉRMICA DA ALUMINA". A presente invenção refere-se a uma parede divisória oca (4) que é empregada para alimentar material de carbono no subfluxo de um forno de redução carbotérmica usado para fabricar alumínio. A parede divisória (4) separa uma zona de reação à baixa temperatura (2) onde óxido de alumínio reage com carbono para formar carbureto de alumínio e uma zona de reação à alta temperatura (3) onde o carbureto de alumínio e o óxido de alumínio remanescente reagem para formar alumínio e monóxido de carbono.
