Processo aperfeiçoado para a produção de ácidos carboxílicos insaturados e nitrilas insaturadas partindo de seus alcanos C~ 3~ a C~ 5~ correspondentes ou de misturas de alcanos e alquenos C~ 3~ a C~ 5~, que envolve um sistema de reação em multiestágio que emprega tanto a separação do produto de oxidação de uma ou mais correntes intermediárias de efluente, assim como a alimentação de oxigênio adicional a zonas de reação subseqüentes à primeira zona de reação.
