"USO DE UM COMPOSTO, FORMULAÇÃO FARMACÊUTICA, COMPOSTO, COMPOSIÇÃO FARMACÊUTICA, E, PROCESSO PARA A PREPARAÇÃO DE UM COMPOSTO". É apresentado o uso de um composto de fórmula (Ia) ou (Ib) (Ia) (Ib) em que R^ 1^,R^ 2^, R^ 3^, R^ 4^, X e Y são como definidos no relatório descritivo, e seus sais farmaceuticamente aceitáveis, na fabricação de um medicamento, para o tratamento ou profilaxia de doenças ou condições em que a inibição da enzima mieloperoxidase (MPO) é benéfica. Certos novos compostos de fórmula (Ia) ou (Ib) e seus sais farmaceuticamente aceitáveis são apresentados, juntamente com os processos para sua preparação. Os compostos de fórmulas (Ia) e (lb) são inibidores da MPO e são por isso particularmente úteis no tratamento ou profilaxia de distúrbios neuroinflamatórios.
