A patente de invenção do equipamento por radiações ultravioletas na desinfecção do ar e superfícies tem por finalidade desinfectar o ar e as superfícies através de ação germicida de luz ultravioleta, que é um processo físico, sem efeitos colaterais. A função precípua do equipamento é fazer a desinfecção do ar em ambientes que exigem alto padrão de assepsia.
