Abstract

MÉTODO PARA PREPARAR UM REALÇADOR DE PALATABILIDADE PARA UMA RAÇÃO ANIMAL, REALÇADOR DE PALATABILIDADE PARA UMA RAÇÃO ANIMAL, E, PRODUTO DE RAÇÃO ANIMAL". Óleos e gorduras de vegetais e/ou animais são quimicamente tratados para criar produtos realçadores de sabor/palatabilidade (FPE) para uso com rações para animais, tais como para cães ou gatos. Este método envolve misturar os triglicerídeos (a partir de óleo ou gordura) com compostos doadores de enxofre e/ou nitrogênio, tais como sulfeto de sódio. A mistura é cozida em uma temperatura próxima ao ponto de ebulição, ou maior, se cozimento sob pressão é usado, por um período de tempo suficiente para romper um grande número de moléculas de triglicerídeo em seus ácidos graxos constituintes e outros fragmentos. Sob condições de cozimento adequadas, os fragmentos orgânicos vão reagir com átomos de enxofre e/ou nitrogênio do(s) composto(s) doador(es), para formar moléculas orgânicas relativamente pequenas contendo enxofre e/ou nitrogênio.
