Abstract
"COMPOSIÇÕES E MÉTODOS PARA MANIPULAÇÃO DE POLISSACARÍDEOS SINTASES DE PLANTAS". A presente invenção fornece composições e métodos para manipulação de polissacarídeos de plantas e polissacarídeo sintases de plantas. As composições incluem novas seqüências de nucleotídeos que codificam polipeptídeos de polissacarídeo sintases, e variantes biologicamente ativas dessas. Também são fornecidos métodos para manipulação de polissacarídeos usando aa seqüências aqui revelada. O método compreende a incorporação estável, no genoma da célula de planta, de uma seqüência de nucleotídeos da presente invenção operacionalmente ligada a um promotor heterólogo e a regeneração de uma planta transformada, de forma estável, que expressa a seqüência de nucleotídeos. Métodos para melhorar a digestibilidade de plantas, melhorar o potencial de extração de goma de plantas, e alterar o crescimento das plantas também são fornecidos.
