A presente invenção refere-se a um artigo polimérico amorfo produzido por compactação a quente e a um método de produzir o mesmo. o artigo é aquecido a uma temperatura a mantida a uma pressão para amaciar os fios poliméricos a um grau suficiente de maneira e permitir que a ligação às fibras adjacente ocorra sem real transformação do polímero a um estado líquido.
