Uma caixa de embalagem (12) tem uma estrutura tubular que é separável ao longo de uma região circunferencial da caixa (12) em compartimentos (14, 16) ligados por um membro de dobradiça (52) dotado de bordas laterais mutuamente espaçadas. Em uma modalidade, o membro de dobradiça (52) é substancialmente elíptico. Em outra modalidade, uma abertura (54) é formada no membro de dobradiça (52) para levantar a caixa de embalagem (12).
