A invenção diz respeito aos compostos complexados da fórmula geral (I) (de a até d) em que M é um elemento dos grupos de 6 a 10 da Tabela Periódica dos Elementos, preferivelmente Ni. A invenção também diz respeito a um método para a produção e dos ditos compostos e ao seu uso na polimerização e copolimerização de olefinas, por exemplo nos métodos de polimerização por suspensão, métodos de polimerização de fase gasosa, métodos de polimerização de massa ou métodos de polimerização em emulsão.
