Os carboxilatos de alquilpolialquileno glicol são preparados por um processo que compreende a reação de éster carboxílico com um óxido de alquileno na presença de um composto cianeto de multimetal de fórmula I M^ 3^~ 2~ M^ 1^~ a~[M^ 2^(CN)~ b~(A)~ c~]~ d~FMl^ 1^~ g~X~ n~mM^ 3^~ p~Y~ qh(H~ 2~O).kP (I) como catalisador é podem ser usados como matérias primas para polímeros fluidificantes de concreto.
