"PROCESSO PARA A REMOÇÃO DE ACETAIS CONTENDO FORMALDEÍDO". A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para a remoção de acetais contendo formaldeído a partir de álcoois polivalentes, em especial a partir de trimetilolpropano. O processo é caracterizado pelo fato de que o álcool polivalente, após a sua preparação através de destilação é liberado de produtos de baixo ponto de ebulição, sendo a seguir submetido à têmpera e subseqüentemente novamente purificado, preferivelmente através de destilação.
