A presente invenção refere-se a novas difenilazetidinonas, a um processo para sua preparação, medicamentos contendo esses compostos, e a seu uso. A invenção refere-se a compostos de fórmula (I), na qual R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 e R6 têm o significado dado, assim como seus sais fisiologicamente compatíveis. Os compostos são apropriados para uso por exemplo como drogas hipolipidêmicas.
