Abstract
"MÉTODOS PARA REDUÇÃO DE ESTRESSE CRÔNICO EM MAMIFEROS". A presente invenção se refere a um método para redução do estresse crônico em um mamífero através de administração de um regime sensório o qual reduz ou sub-regula a atividade do eixo HPA. A atividade do eixo HPA do mamífero pode ser sub-regulada através de pelo menos um dos seguintes métodos: (1) redução da quantidade do hormônio adrenocortical total diário; (2) redução do hormônio adrenocortical a qualquer ponto de tempo no período de cerca de 4 horas a cerca de 8 horas em seguida ao despertar pela manhã; (3) redução do hormônio adrenocortical total diário menos a medida integrativa de hormônio adrenocortical de pico pela manhã. Geralmente, o regime sensório é selecionado do grupo consistindo de estímulos auditivos, estímulos visuais, estímulos táteis, estímulos gustativos, estímulos olfatórios e combinações dos mesmos.
