Descrevem-se composições zwitteriônicas da matéria compreendendo cátions [Ct]^ +^ e ânions conectados juntos com grupos de ligação fluorados substancialmente rígidos. Estas composições zwitteriônicas servem como co-catalisadores. Elas ativam catalisadores de polimerização de olefina e podem dissolver em solventes alifáticos. Sínteses e polimerização são ilustradas.
