A invenção refere-se a um processo para a lavagem e para a retirada de água de suspensões de amido em uma única etapa que usa um filtro a vácuo. Ela também refere-se a um filtro a vácuo de tambor giratório que tem meios para a alimentação de uma suspensão, borrifadores para a aplicação de líquidos de lavagem e um raspador.
