"USO DE BENZILIDENOAMINOGUANIDINAS E HIDROXIGUANIDINAS COMO LIGANTES PARA OS RECEPTORES DE MELANOCORTINA". A presente invenção refere-se ao uso dos compostos de fórmula geral (I) como ligantes para os receptores de melanocortina e/ou para o tratamento de distúrbios no sistema de melanocortina: em que X é H ou OH; R~ 1~, R~ 2~, R~ 3~, R~ 4~ e R~ 5~ são iguais ou diferentes e são selecionados de hidrogênio, halogênio, alquila tendo 1 a 5 átomos de carbono, grupos doadores de elétrons, tais como alcóxi tendo 1-5 átomos de carbono ou hidróxi, grupos receptores de elétrons selecionados de ciano, nitro, trifluoralquila ou amida; alquilamino, benzoilóxi, nitróxi, fenila ou sulfo; e dos sais farmacologicamente ativos dos mesmos.
