Esta invenção é um método aperfeiçoado para reduzir ou eliminar o uso de tabaco e a dependência de nicotina associada com o uso de tabaco diminuindo gradualmente um consumo de tabaco do indivíduo por um período de tempo enquanto repõe a nicotina do tabaco com uma fonte de nicotina alternativa na forma de um emplastro transdérmico.
