Abstract
"SISTEMAS DE COLETA DE SANGUE E PROCESSOS UTILIZANDO UM ELEMENTO DE MEMBRANA POROSA". Um filtro para a remoção de leucócitos do sangue compreende um meio de filtração (20) encerrado em um invólucro (30). O meio de filtração (20) inclui uma região principal do filtro (MF) compreendendo uma estrutura de membrana porosa estendendo-se entre primeira e segunda superfícies de revestimento. A estrutura de membrana porosa é formada por células que se intersectam tendo uma faixa de diâmetros. As células adjacentes à primeira superfície de revestimento têm diâmetros de um modo geral menores do que os diâmetros das células adjacentes à segunda superfície de revestimento. A primeira superfície de revestimento inclui uma área aberta definida por poros não formados pela interseção das células com a primeira superfície de revestimento. A maior parte da área aberta é definida por poros tendo um diâmetro entre cerca de 12 mícrons e 28 mícrons.
