"FENIL-ACETAMIDAS SUBSTITUÍDAS E SEU USO COMO ATIVADORES DE GLICOCINASE". Descreve-se compostos da fórmula (I) onde X é oxigênio ou sulfonila, R é um anel, R^ 1^ é ciclo-alquila, y e z são 0 ou 1, e R^ 2^ é -CO-NHR^ 3^ ou um anel heteroaromático que tem um átomo de nitrogênio no anel, adjacente ao átomo de carbono conector do anel, e que são ativos como ativadores de glicocinase, para aumentar a secreção de insulina, o que os torna úteis para tratar diabetes tipo II.
