A invenção refere-se a fração de combinação de gasolina rica em isooctano é produzida em um reator (5) através da dimerização de isobutileno usando modificador álcool butílico terciário e diluente alcano inferior. Vantajosamente, o isobutileno é produzido por desidratação de álcool butílico terciário em uma zona de desidratação (2).
