Uma vela de resistência elétrica para motores de combustão interna, compreendendo: - um corpo metálico (12); - uma bainha metálica (24) possuindo uma extremidade fechada (26) e uma extremidade aberta (28); - um terminal (30) estendendo-se através da extremidade aberta (28) da bainha (24); - um pó condutor (34) fixado em conexão elétrica com uma extremidade (36) do terminal (30) e com a bainha (24); e - uma camada (38) de pó isolante colocada entre o já mencionado pó condutor (34) e a bainha (24) na área entre a,extremidade fechada (26) da bainha (24) e a extremidade (36) do terminal (30).
