Copolímeros reticulados solúveis em água ou intumescíveis em água consistindo essencialmente em unidades estruturais da fórmula 1 ou uma mistura das unidades estruturais da fórmula 1 com unidades estruturais da fórmula 2 e unidades estruturais da fórmula 3 onde R, R¹, R², R³, Z e n são como definidos na descrição. Estes copolímeros são reticulados com compostos que contêm pelo menos duas ligações duplas olefínicas. Estes copolímeros reticulados são adequados como espessantes, em particular para preparações cosméticas e farmacêuticas.
