Abstract
"APARELHO DE FAIXA LATERAL (VSB) DIGITAL". Um sistema de comunicação compreende uma fonte de dados digitais incluindo um remodulador VSB, tal como um VCR, e um dispositivo VSB digital a jusante, tal como uma televisão. O remodulador VSB digital remodula dados digitais a partir da fonte de dados recebida em um dos diversos canais, para dados VSB digitais em um canal a jusante, e transmite os dados VSB digitais ao dispositivo VSB digital a jusante no canal a jusante, a uma taxa de símbolo f~ s~. O dispositivo VSB digital a jusante transmite informação, tal como sua identificação, ao remodulador VSB digital em um canal a montante correspondente a uma freqüência de (N/M) fs da portadora. Os diversos canais e o canal a jusante ocupam uma largura de faixa acima de cerca de 50 MHz, e (N/M) f~ s~, está abaixo desta largura de faixa.
