Abstract
"PROCESSO PARA PREPARAR CLORETOS DE O-CLOROMETILBENZOÍLA". A invenção refere-se a um processo para produzir cloretos de ácido o-clorometil benzóico de fórmula (I) em que R^ 1^ a R^ 4^ podem ser iguais ou diferentes e representam hidrogênio, alquila-C~ 1~-C~ 4~, halogênio ou trifluorometila, por reação de lactonas benzo condensadas de fórmula (II) em que R^ 1^ a R^ 4^ têm o significado acima mencionado, com cloreto de tionila. O processo da invenção é caracterizado em que a reação é realizada na presença de quantidades catalíticas de um ácido bórico, anidrido de ácido bórico, borato, ácido borônico ou éster de ácido borônico e na presença de quantidades catalíticas de um sal de amônio quaternário.
