Os derivados de adenosina modificados por N^ 6^ heterocíclico 8 que são agonistas de receptores de adenosina A~ 1~ seletivos, parciais ou totais, e, como tal, são úteis para a modificação da atividade cardíaca, modificação da função de adipócito, tratamento de distúrbios do sistema nervoso central, e tratamento de distúrbios diabéticos e obesidade em mamíferos, e especialmente em humanos.
