Abstract
"DIÓXIDO DE MANGANÊS ELETROLÍTICO DE ALTA DESCARGA E UM ELETRODO E UMA CÉLULA ALCALINA INCORPORANDO O MESMO". Uma célula eletroquímica alcalina é descrita tendo um eletrodo positivo, um eletrodo negativo e um eletrólito. O eletrodo positivo compreende dióxido de manganês eletrolítico tendo uma voltagem em pH = 6 de pelo menos 0,860 volt. O dióxido de manganês eletrolítico tem também, de preferência, menos do que cerca de 250 ppm e, particularmente, menos do que cerca de 150 ppm de impurezas de potássio em peso. O dióxido de manganês eletrolítico tendo essas propriedades apresenta aperfeiçoamentos sinérgicos e inesperados significativos em serviço de alta velocidade, que se traduz em vida útil de alta velocidade da célula eletroquímica contendo o dióxido de manganês eletrolítico no seu eletrodo positivo.
