Um sistema óptico de condensação e coleta inclui um refletor de colimação (30) e um refletor de focalização (40).O refletor de colimação (30) inclui uma parte de um parabolóide de revolução tendo um ponto focal (36) e um eixo óptico (38). O refletor de focalização (40) inclui um parabolóide de revolução tendo um ponto focal (46) e um eixo óptico (48). Uma fonte de radiação eletromagnética (20) colocada no ponto focal (36) do refletor de colimação (30) produz um feixe colimado de radiação. O refletor de focalização (40) é posicionado de modo a receber o feixe colimado e focalizá-lo no sentido de um alvo (60) posicionado no ponto focal (46) do refletor de focalização (40).
