A presente invenção se refere ao uso de um ou mais compostos do grupo que consiste de 4-tiouridina, isomaltitol e uridina, na preparação de composições terapeuticamente efetivas contra inflamações agudas ou crônicas e/ou problemas de hemostasia correlacionada ao funcionamento das plaquetas, assim como a um método para tratamento de inflamações agudas ou crônicas e/ou problemas de hemostasia correlacionados ao funcionamento das plaquetas, com exceção do uso da uridina no tratamento de condições inflamatórias causadas por infecção bacteriana.
