A invenção também está relacionada a ácidos nucléicos isolados codificando Akt3 humano, a vetores contendo os mesmos e a seus usos terapêuticos, em particular para terapia genética. Expressão de Akt3 inibe a morte de células associado com hipóxia, apoptose ou necrose.
