A presente invenção refere-se a uma modificação de cristal definida de ácido 8-ciano-1-ciclopropil-7-(1S,6S-2,8-diazabiciclo[4.3.0]nonan-8-il)-6-flúor-1,4-dihidro-4-oxo-3-quinolincarboxílico, processo para sua preparação assim como seu emprego em preparações farmacêuticas. A modificação de cristal é diferenciável de outras modificações de cristal de ácido 8-ciano-1-ciclopropil-7-(1S,6S-2,8-diazabiciclo[4.3.0]nonan-8-il)-6-flúor-1,4-dihidro-4-oxo-3-quinolincarboxílico, da fórmula (I) por seu difractograma de pó de raio x característico e seu termodiagrama diferencial.
