"USO DE ALOPURINOL EM TRANSTORNOS PSIQUIÁTRICOS". A presente invenção trata de um novo uso do alopurinol como medicamento para o tratamento de transtornos psiquiátricos como esquizofrenia, transtorno afetivo bipolar, transtornos de ansiedade, síndromes demenciais além de alterações comportamentais como agitação, agressividade, impulsividade e insônia. Preliminarmente, o tratamento dessas doenças com o alopurinol mostrou-se bastante eficaz, associados com ótima tolerabilidade nas dosagens indicadas.
