"INVÓLUCRO COM FENDA HELICOIDAL PARA ATENUAÇÃO DE VIBRAÇÃO INDUZIDA POR VÓRTICES". Para utilização em corpos rombudos sujeitos a vento e/ou correntes e ondas marítimas; este mecanismo tem por finalidade atenuar a Vibração Induzida pela Formação e Desprendimento de Vórtices (VIV), por exemplo, em elementos cilíndricos de plataformas "offshore' de produção de petróleo, em trocadores de calor constituídos por tubos e em chaminés sujeitas a cargas devido a vento, e é constituído por invólucro cilíndrico de três fendas helicoidais defasadas de 120 .
