Inserido entre as mesmas, promove a fusão das vértebras que se faz necessária no tratamento de diversas patologias da coluna. O dispositivo sustenta o espaço intervertebral, apoiando-se nas bordas anteriores dos platos dos corpos vertebrais adjacentes com enxerto ósseo no seu interior, promovendo a fusão das vértebras e a manutenção do espaço.
