SISTEMA DE DIAGNÓSTICO IN VITRO. A presente invenção refere-se a um método e um sistema para identificar um atributo de um cartucho sendo inserido em um leitor eletrônico que incluem fornecer marca(s) de identificação em uma etiqueta de cartucho (ou no próprio cartucho) de modo que um ou mais LEDs internos ao leitor possam iluminar a(s) marca(s) de identificação permitindo que um ou mais fotodetectores internos ao leitor meçam uma assinatura óptica de cada marca de identificação. O atributo do cartucho pode ser indicativo de um ou mais ensaios que podem ser realizados usando o cartucho, em conjunto com o leitor.
