Abstract
PROCESSO MELHORADO PARA DESPOLIMERIZAR POLI(TEREFTALATO DE ETILENO). A presente invenção se refere a um processo para despolimerizar poli(tereftalato de etileno) ("PET"), no qual o método PET é reagido com glicolato de sódio ou glicolato de potássio, que foi obtido por destilação reativa, para formar uma mistura M1 incluindo bis(2-hidroxietil) tereftalato ("BHET"). O processo de acordo com a invenção se distingue pelo fato de que o BHET compõe uma proporção particularmente alta dos produtos de decomposição na mistura M1. O processo de acordo com a invenção, portanto, fornece um alto rendimento de BHET que pode ser usado diretamente para produzir PET novamente. A presente invenção, portanto, também se refere a um processo para reciclar PET, no qual o BHET obtido no processo para despolimerizar PET é polimerizado novamente para formar PET, opcionalmente após ser adicionalmente purificado de M1.
