A presente invenção refere-se a uma composição de melhoramento da palatabilidade compreendendo pelo menos um pirofosfato de trissódio contendo uma fase cristalina, em que a dita fase cristalina compreende uma fase de monoidrato e uma fase de anidra em uma razão em peso de fase de monoidrato/fase anidra de entre 1:50 e 4:1.
