A presente invenção refere-se a um método para cortar através de uma trama de material (1), onde a trama de material (1) passa por um estreitamento de rolo (4) e é alimentada a um cortador transversal (5). A invenção é caracterizada pelo fato de que a velocidade circunferencial dos rolos de corte (6) do cortador transversal (5) é menor do que a velocidade de trama da trama de material (1), onde a formação do percurso real (8) é facilitada por meios formadores de trama (9).
