A presente invenção refere-se a um material compósito, especialmente para aplicação em um transformador, compreendendo uma primeira camada de tira de aço elétrica orientada por grãos uma segunda camada de tira de aço elétrica orientada por grãos bem como uma camada polimérica intermediária, em que a camada polimérica consiste em um copolímero à base de acrilato de alto peso molecular reticulado e apresenta uma espessura de camada na faixa de 3 a 10 µm.
