Abstract
Descrevem-se composições contendo quinonas que demonstram atividade em aprimoramento do reparo de DNA e/ou impedem danos ao DNA. As quinonas são timoquinona, lapachol, murta-comum C (Myrtus communis) ou misturas destes e podem ser formulados em composições cosméticas para administração tópica a um indivíduo com necessidade deste. As composições cosméticas também podem incluir protetores solares, surfactantes, agentes de bronzeamento artificial, agentes de descamação, antitranspirantes, corantes, conservantes e misturas; e um transportador cosmeticamente aceitável. As composições devem ser usadas nos métodos para tratar sinais do envelhecimento em mamíferos através de aplicação tópica à pele ou ao cabelo dos mamíferos.
