Abstract
Um processo que fornece terapia protetora a tecidos ou fluidos biológicos inclui aplicar uma fonte de energia pulsada a um tecido alvo ou um fluido alvo tendo uma doença progressiva crônica ou em risco de ter uma doença progressiva crônica para tratar terapeuticamente ou profilaticamente o tecido alvo ou fluido alvo. A fonte de energia pulsada tem parâmetros energéticos selecionados de modo a elevar a temperatura do tecido ou do fluido corporal alvo até uma temperatura predeterminada por um curto período de tempo para alcançar um efeito terapêutico ou profilático, embora a elevação média da temperatura do tecido alvo ou fluido alvo durante um período de tempo mais longo seja mantida em ou abaixo de um nível predeterminado de modo a não danificar permanentemente o tecido alvo ou o fluido alvo.
