Abstract
São aqui descritos métodos e sistemas para a rápida detecção de microrganismos em uma amostra. Um bacteriófago geneticamente modificado é também descrito o qual compreende um gene indicador na região tardia do gene. A especificidade do bacteriófago, tal como CBA120, permite a detecção de um microrganismo específico, tal como E. coli O157:H7, e um sinal indicador pode ser amplificado para otimizar a sensibilidade do ensaio.
