Abstract
A presente invenção proporcionar métodos para prevenir, inibir ou tratar uma infecção de sítio cirúrgico associada com uma operação cirúrgica que compreende a etapa de aplicar no sítio cirúrgico um substrato biocompatível e biodegradável sendo impregnado e/ou tendo sua superfície revestida totalmente ou parcialmente com uma composição matriz que fornece liberação controlada ou prolongada local de pelo menos um agente farmaceuticamente ativo no sítio cirúrgico.
