Abstract
Uma versão truncada do gene IVL2 de Saccharomyces cerevisiae codificando uma forma citosólica de acetolactato sintase foi clonada em um cassete de expressão sob controle de um promotor constitutivo forte do álcool desidrogenase (ADH1). O plasmídeo foi introduzido na estirpe de S. cerevisiae e a estirpe recombinante foi testada quanto à capacidade de sobreproduzir glicerol sob condições anaeróbicas. Foi mostrado que a estirpe recombinante era caracterizada por produção aumentada de glicerol e produção diminuída de etanol sob condições anaeróbicas.
