Abstract
A presente invenção refere-se a um método para remover SOx de um gás com o uso de uma solução compósita de poliol. A solução compósita de poliol é produzida misturando-se um poliol com um ácido orgânico e/ou com um sal de ácido orgânico, sendo que a solução compósita de poliol é colocada em contato com o gás que contém SOx para absorver o SOx no gás, em que x = 2 e/ou 3, e o poliol se refere a um composto orgânico diferente de etileno glicol e polietileno glicol, que contém simultaneamente dois ou mais que dois grupos hidroxila em uma mesma molécula orgânica.
