Abstract: The water intake installation comprises a suction basin (2) from which at least one pumping station (10) supplies water to a cooling circuit (11), and at least one suction tunnel (3) that supplies water to the suction basin (2) so as to maintain a sufficient water level (L2). The water intake installation furthermore comprises a system for supplying additional water, able to supply water to the suction basin (2) from at least one emergency water reserve (60). The system for supplying additional water comprises at least one water duct (65) connecting the suction basin (2) to one of said emergency water reserves (60) and an obstructing device (9) able to open the water duct if the water level in the suction basin (2) drops in a way defined beforehand as being abnormal. O aparelho compreende, além disso, um sistema para abastecer água adicional, que tem a capacidade de abastecer água ao poço de bomba (2) a partir de pelo menos uma reserva de água de emergência (60). O sistema para abastecer água adicional compreende pelo menos um duto de água (65) que conecta o poço de bomba (2) a uma das ditas reservas de água de emergência (60) e um dispositivo de obstrução (9) que tem a capacidade de abrir o duto de água se o nível de água no poço de bomba (2) cair de forma definida antecipadamente como anormal. A invenção também se refere a uma estação de potência nuclear que compreende esse aparelho, especificamente adequado para a ereção em um litoral vulnerável a inundação por tsunami.
